LGSA Families,
It’s that time of year to elect LGSA’s officers for the next season. The elected officer positions are President, VP-Umpire in Chief, VP-Registrar, Treasurer, and Secretary. These positions are necessary to help lead the association to follow our purpose to:
- teach members about the fundamentals of fast-pitch softball;
- encourage fair play and good sportsmanship, enable the girls to build confidence and raise self-esteem and family fun; and
- provide an opportunity for high competition softball for members who want it.
The membership, as defined in the bylaws, shall be comprised of the Board of Directors, coaches and/or parents of each girl and each girl currently registered.
We are the nominating committee and through Sunday, May 6th we will be visiting your games providing you with a nomination ballot. The process for nominations is as follows:
- Write the person you wish to nominate for each of the five positions.
- Ask another general member to sign in agreement of that nomination.
- Submit your nomination ballot to the nominating committee member.
Please note that for the offices of President, VP-Umpire In Chief, and VP-Registrar, the candidate must have served as an LGSA board member for a full season, past or present, to be nominated.
Upon receiving a nomination, the nomination committee will contact nominee for acceptance of the nomination and will develop the voting slate. Through May 13th, the nominating committee will again visit your games providing you with a voting ballot. Each member will receive one vote. The voting ballot will be place in a secure ballot box.
At the election meeting on Monday, May 21st, the nominating committee will open and count all votes. Before the end of the meeting, the nominating committee will present the LGSA 2012-2013 Officers-elect.
